PARK RIDGE, IL (October 28, 2025) – Republican U.S. Senate candidate Casey Chlebek is unveiling the third pillar of his MAGNA Agenda—Make America the Greatest Nation Again: the Abolition of IRS Taxes on Retirement Income, calling it a vital step toward restoring fairness, dignity, and financial security for seniors, veterans, and working families.

“Retirement should mean peace of mind—not another IRS bill,” said Chlebek. “No American who worked hard, paid their taxes, and followed the rules should have to gamble with Washington’s shifting tax rates. Once you retire, your nest egg should be yours to keep—safe from unpredictable tax hikes and government overreach.”

Chlebek’s MAGNA Retirement Freedom Act proposes a phased, constitutional plan to permanently end federal income taxes on pensions, 401(k)s, IRAs, and Social Security benefits. The five-phase plan includes immediate tax relief for retirees, a transitional “gains-only” period to protect federal revenue stability, and a permanent exemption on all retirement income.

The proposal, which builds on his earlier calls to abolish property taxes and end federal taxation of Social Security benefits, recognizes that most Illinois public employees—including teachers, police officers, firefighters, and state workers—are required to pay into pension systems like TRS, SURS, and IMRF instead of Social Security. These workers, Chlebek says, “should not be taxed twice on wages they already earned.”

“This plan isn’t about the wealthy—it’s about protecting working families who did everything right,” said Chlebek. “They played by the rules, contributed within limits, and sacrificed wages for long-term security. Washington keeps changing the rules, and that’s wrong.”

Under his broader MAGNA Agenda, Chlebek aims to reform federal taxation to restore ownership and stability for every generation:

  • For Seniors: Peace of mind and financial dignity.

  • For Generation X: Predictable retirement planning amid Social Security uncertainty.

  • For Millennials and Gen Z: Incentives to save early with confidence that Washington won’t raid their future.

“Every generation deserves the same promise,” Chlebek added. “If you work hard, save responsibly, and play by the rules, Washington shouldn’t move the goalposts on you.”

The Abolish IRS Taxes on Retirement Income proposal is part of the seven-pillar MAGNA Agenda announced earlier this year, alongside the complementary foreign policy vision known as MULA—Make the U.S. Loved Again. The next installment of Chlebek’s policy series, coming in November, will introduce Pillar Four: No Federal Taxes for Young Americans under age 23—or 26 for full-time students and married couples.
