I had the honor of meeting Charlie at the 2022 Lincoln Day Dinner in Springfield, Ill. where he served as President of Turning Point USA. His passion and energy left a lasting impression.

No matter our views or our politics, this attack on a public forum—and on human life—is unacceptable.

My thoughts are with Charlie’s wife, Erika, their children, and loved ones. We must stand united against political violence and ensure that the freedoms of speech and safety can coexist—forever. Rest in peace.”
